Former Congressman Steve Buyer Endorses Peggy Mayfield

Support Builds for Business Woman, Clerk to Take On Democrat Peggy Welch

(Martinsville, IN)—Republican County Clerk Peggy Mayfield announced Thursday the endorsement of former 4th District Congressman Steve Buyer for her candidacy in the District 60 State Representative Republican Primary.

Congressman Buyer joins Martinsville Mayor Phil Deckard, Morgan County Sheriff Robert Garner, Senator Brent Steele, Representative Tom Saunders, Mooresville Town Clerk Sandy Perry, former Mooresville Town Council President and current Brown Township Mark Harris in endorsing Mayfield’s candidacy.

“When you find someone with good virtues, good values, and sound character, they’re going to be effective and do what’s in the best interest of the people, and we can trust them to make the right judgments on our behalf,” said Congressman Buyer. “Peggy’s proven herself. I believe in her and trust her. I also have learned sometimes it only takes one person to stand up and fight a trend. That’s leadership, and I think that’s what Peggy is going to do.”

“I am honored to have the support of Congressman Buyer.” Mayfield said. “If elected, I promise to bring my own conservative leadership principles and small town values to Indianapolis.”
